How to Set Up a C by GE Smart Plug

Introduction

This guide will help you set up your C by GE Smart Plug to be able to control your lamps and appliances remotely with the C by GE app or with your voice only by speaking to a virtual assistant.
What You'll Need:
  • A WiFi network to be already set up in your home.
  • A phone or tablet with Bluetooth 4.0 capability.
Before You Begin:
You must have the C by GE app installed
C by GE Logo.

1 Prepare C by GE Smart Plug for Setup

  1. Plug the C by GE smart plug into an electrical outlet.

  2. The LED light should blink blue indicating it is ready for setup.

2 C by GE Smart Plug Setup

Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone or tablet and you are within 40 feet of the C by GE smart plug.

  1. Launch the C by GE app on your phone or tablet.
    C by GE App.
  2. Tap Add in the top right corner.

  3. Then tap Add New Devices.

  4. Select Plugs.
  5. Select the Smart Plug from the list.
  6. Select your WiFi Network from the list and tap Continue.

  7. Enter your WiFi Password if required to continue.

  8. Now select the Room where the smart switch is installed and tap Next.

  9. Give the plug a Name then tap Continue.
  10. Tap Done to finish, or Set Up Another Plug if you have another one to set up.
