Any Sonos device you have in your home that can be controlled with a remote can actually be controlled with your existing LG smart remote. A simple series of steps can take you through setting up your Sonos app and your LG Remote to work together instead of against each other for control. Setting this up should also eliminate the on screen volume graphic.
In this guide, you will learn how to prepare your LG TV's remote control to successfully send commands to your Sonos devices, and how to configure your Sonos devices to accept such inputs from the Sonos app.

Select the TV Port you used to connect the soundbar. This is usually the Optical but may be different.
Select any manufacturer. Philips seems to work best. Select Next afterwards.
Select Remote Type 1.
And select Next.
Select Done.
3. Set the Sonos Speaker to Be Controlled by an External Remote
Now that your LG remote is programmed to control a soundbar, we must use the Sonos Controller app to teach the appropriate speakers what external remote commands they can be controlled by:
Open the Sonos Controller app.
Select the More tab.
Select Settings.
Select Room Settings.
Select the room your Sonos device is located in.
Select TV.
Select Remote Control Setup.
Follow the instructions that appear to program your remote to be able to control your Sonos speaker.
After the remote has been successfully programmed, if you're experiencing volume popups on your television when you're trying to control the volume of your Sonos speaker with that remote, your TV's built-in speakers must be disabled.
