  1. Launch the Kasa Smart app.

  2. When you launch the app, it will show all your smart home devices including your bulbs. From this view you can turn the bulbs on or off by tapping the toggle button to the right of their name.

  3. Tap a bulb's name to bring up the lighting customization options.
  4. From there you can change the brightness level with the horizontal slider.

  5. And choose a different color from the color picker area.

  6. For advanced color customization tap More Colors.

  7. On the White tab you can select a pre-defined color temperature.

  8. Switch to fine tuning by tapping the circle in the top right corner.

  9. Or tap Auto-White to let the bulb change its color automatically based on the time of the day.

  10. On the Color tab you can select from a multitude of pre-defined colors.

  11. Or you can switch to fine tuning by tapping the circle in the top right corner.

  12. Back on the bulb options screen you can also choose or configure Presets.

  13. You can switch between preset colors or recently used ones from the tabs at the top.

  14. Or customize the presets the way you prefer by tapping the pencils to the right of the color swatches.

  15. To automate events tap Schedule on the bulb options screen.

  16. You can choose to let your lighting operate automatically at any time and on any day:
    • Turn the light on with the color automatically matching the time of day
    • Turn it on in the last state the light was set to before it was turned off
    • Turn it on in a preset or custom color
    • Or even turn it off.

  17. To check your bulb's energy usage tap Usage on the bulb options screen.

  18. You'll be able to see the daily, weekly and monthly usage as well as a yearly usage prediction.

  19. To access the general bulb configuration, tap Settings in the top right corner.

  20. From here you can configure bulb settings, such as:
    • Remote Control - Choose whether you want to be able to control the light while you're away from home
    • Device Name - Set the bulb name and location
    • Device Icon - Set a custom icon for the bulb, to recognize it easier in the app
    • Default States - Set the states in which the light should turn on, when it's turned on from the app or the main power switch.

  3. Tap a device's name for more options.
  4. From there you can see the device's runtime and energy usage. Tap to see more details.

  5. To automate a plug/switch to turn on or off at a certain time, tap Schedule at the bottom left.

  6. You can set the time and days when the event should take place and whether the device should turn on or off.

  7. To automate your lights operated by the plug/switch when you're away from home, to make it seem as if you're actually home, tap Away at the bottom middle.

  8. You can set the start and end times, and days when you want the Away Mode to go into effect. Your device will turn on at a random time and turn off at a random time within the set time frame, on the selected days.

  9. To set a countdown timer to turn the plug/switch on or off, tap Timer at the bottom right.

  10. You can set the countdown time and whether your device should turn on or off after the time expired.

  11. To access the general device configuration, tap Settings in the top right corner.

  1. Launch the Kasa Smart app.

  2. When you launch the app, it will show all your smart home devices including your cameras. From this view you can turn the cameras on or off by tapping the toggle buttons on the right side.

  3. To view the cameras only, go to the Cameras tab. There you'll see a live feed of all your cameras.

  4. Tap a camera name in the Devices tab or a live feed in the Cameras tab for more options.
  5. From there you can:
    • View the live camera feed in fullscreen (1)
    • Have a two-way conversation (2) with anyone in front of the camera
    • Schedule (3) automatic turn on or off events for the camera
    • Or configure the camera settings (4).

  6. From the Device Settings screen you can configure the camera the way you prefer.

  7. You can configure several settings such as:
    • Camera Power - Turn the camera on or off
    • Device Name - Set the camera name and location
    • Activity Zones - Set areas on the camera view that should be monitored for movement
    • Privacy and Sensitivity - Choose whether you want to record video or audio, set the motion detection sensitivity and recording frequency
    • Video Quality - Choose the video resolution and quality
    • Video Rotation - Choose whether the camera is installed normally or on a ceiling
    • Night Vision - Choose how you want the night vision to kick in
    • Status LED - Turn the status light on the front of the camera on or off.
  8. To check your camera's history go to the Activity tab where you'll see all the detected motion events and triggered recordings.
