Things to consider if you are experiencing PS4 controller issues:
  • The batteries may have insufficient power. Charge your controller.
  • Check how many controllers are connected, the console can only have a maximum of 4 active controllers connected to it.
  • If the PS4 controller's buttons are not lit, try turning the controller back on. The controller has a power save feature which turns it off after 15 minutes of inactivity.
  • Other wireless connection-capable devices may have signals interfering with the controller's own signal.
  • Interference may be caused by metallic objects between the console and controller.
  • The distance may be too far. Ensure you are within 19 feet or 6 meters from the console.
  • The controller may be defective.
