How to Update a Sonos Playbar Soundbar

Introduction

Normally, when a new software update is available for your Sonos system, you will be prompted to update with an “System Update Available” banner. This guide will demonstrate additional ways to ensure your system is always up to date.

1 Update Automatically or Manually

While your Sonos devices will prompt you via the Sonos app when there is an update available for any of your devices, you also have the ability to have your devices automatically update themselves, or manually check for updates if you wish.

To Enable Automatic Updates

When automatic updates are enabled, your Sonos System will attempt to apply updates during the window of time you've selected. However, if your device is being used, if there is an alarm scheduled during this time, or if your device loses internet connectivity, the update will be postponed until the next available update window.
