This guide will show you how to perform a basic setup for your Sony Blu-ray player.
In the box you should find the following items:

On / Standby - Turns on the player or sets it to standby mode

3. Setup Prep
Before performing the setup follow these preparatory steps:
Place the Blu-ray player close to your TV set so that it is within the length of the HDMI cable and of the power cable.
Only connect the power cable into a power outlet once all the other cables have been plugged into the player and the TV set.
Insert the batteries in the remote control with their terminals corresponding to the polarity indicators.

The first time you turn the Blu-ray player on it will show the Easy Setup. To perform the setup and navigate the menu afterward you'll need to use the Remote Control. Use the Arrows to navigate then press Enter to confirm your selection.
Select your preferred Language then press the Right Arrow button.
Choose whether you want to enable Quick Start Mode then press the Right Arrow.
To be able to stream online content with the Blu-ray player, it has to be connected to the internet. If you don't have a network or you wish to skip the network setup you can select Finish. To connect to a network select Easy Network Settings and press Enter.
Press the Right Arrow to start the network setup.
If you already connected an Ethernet cable between the player and router select Wired Setup and press the Right Arrow.
Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the wired connection then press Enter to continue.
If you wish to connect your player over Wi-Fi, then select Wireless Setup and press the Right Arrow.
Select your Wi-Fi networks name from the list and press the Right Arrow.
Press Enter over WPA Key.
Type in your Wi-Fi password, select Enter on the screen, then press Enter on the remote.
Press the Right Arrow to accept the typed in password and continue.
The wireless connection should be set up and show you a confirmation screen. Press Enter to continue.
Choose whether you want to allow special content to be played from the internet and press the Right Arrow.
Select Auto for the Gracenote settings and press the Right Arrow.
With that your setup should be complete. Press Enter to finish.
