How to Secure a Parrot Bebop 2 Drone

1. Introduction

  • How to secure the Wi-Fi connection of your Parrot drone.

You'll Need:

  • A mobile device with the FreeFlight Pro app already installed.

2. Turn On

  1. Press and release the button on the rear end of the drone to turn it on.

  1. The drone will make an initialization sound and the button will light up and blink a few times until it stabilizes.

3. OS Choice

To continue, we need to know what Operating System your smartphone or tablet has.

There are 2 main Operating Systems for smartphones currently available, Android and iOS.

4. Connect Mobile Device (Android)

Depending on your exact device (Smartphone or Tablet), and which generation you have, the menu theme and options might look slightly different on your screen. However, the steps should be similar across all Android devices and generations.

  1. Open Settings.

  1. Select Wi-Fi.

  1. Select the Bebop2_xxxxx Wi-Fi network from the list.

  1. By default, you don't need to enter a Wi-Fi password. You only need to enter one if you set it yourself.

5. Connect to Drone

  1. Launch the FreeFlight Pro app on your mobile device.

  1. The app will connect automatically to the Parrot drone and show the Wi-Fi symbol towards the top right.

6. Secure Drone Wi-Fi

By default, your Parrot drone doesn't have a Wi-Fi password. It's best you set one up to avoid other people connecting to it.

  1. Launch the FreeFlight Pro app on your mobile device.

  1. Tap the Fly & Film area.

  1. Then go to Settings in the top left.

  1. Scroll down on the left side and select Network.

  1. Tap WPA2 in the top right.

  1. Then enter a new Wi-Fi password for your Parrot drone.

  1. The drone will restart automatically once the Wi-Fi password is entered.

7. Connect Mobile Device (iOS)

Depending on your exact device (Smartphone or Tablet), and which generation you have, the menu theme and options might look slightly different on your screen. However, the steps should be similar across all Apple iOS devices and generations.

  1. Open Settings.
