This guide will take you through working with your Apple Watch's app.

There currently isn't an app or interface for using the Apple Watch with the iPad.

1 Prerequisites

The Apple Watch App comes pre-installed on all iPhones running iOS 8.2 or later. Below are the minimum requirements for each model of Apple Watch.

Series 3 Non-LTE iPhone 5S or later running iOS 11 or later.
Series 3 LTE iPhone 6 or later, running iOS 11 or later.

Making sure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS is the best way to ensure you will not run into compatibility problems with your Apple Watch or the Watch app on your iPhone.

With iOS 10 or later, it is possible to remove the Watch app from an iPhone. If your Watch app has been removed from your iPhone, it can always be reinstalled from the App store.

Here's how to check the iOS version running on your Apple device:

  1. From the main screen of your device, look for and open Settings.

  2. Then select General.

  4. And look for Version.

To check and see if updates are available for your iOS device:

  1. Open Settings on your phone or tablet.

  4. Your iOS device will perform a search for available iOS updates.
    • If no update is available, it will display your current version of iOS and inform you that your software is up to date.

    • If an update is available, it will be displayed.

      • Select Download and Install to begin the update process.
      • If prompted, enter your passcode to proceed.
  1. Launch the App Store on your iOS device.

  2. Tap on Search at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Search for "watch" in the search box at the top. Select the app from the list of results.

  4. Tap the Download symbol or on Get, then on Install. Once installed, tap Open to launch the app immediately if you wish.
