How to Free Up Storage Space on Android Phone Tablet

1 Check Data Storage

Here's how to check the available storage space on your Android device.

Method 1:

  1. From the home screen, press the menu button.
  2. Choose Settings.

  4. You will see the amount of space remaining on your phone storage or on the memory card (microSD) if you have one.

Method 2:

  1. From the home screen, press the menu button.
  2. Tap File Manager.

  3. On the bottom part of your screen, you will see the Total Disc Space and the amount of space remaining on your phone storage or on the memory card (microSD) if you have one.

2 Uninstall an App

There are two ways to uninstall apps from your Android device.

  • Uninstall from Home Screen or App Drawer

    1. Locate the app on your Home Screen or App Drawer. Tap and hold the app icon, and start dragging it around.

    2. Drag the icon to Uninstall at the top then release.

  • Uninstall from Settings

    1. Open Settings on your phone or tablet.

    2. Select Apps.

Here's how to install Microsoft OneDrive:
  1. Open Play Store.

  2. Search for Microsoft One Drive.

  3. Tap Install to start downloading the app.

  4. Once installed, tap Open to proceed to the setup.

  1. Open the OneDrive app.

  2. Tap on the Sign In to login to your OneDrive account.

  3. Type in your email address, then Tap on the arrow pointing right.

  4. Type in your password then, tap on Sign In.

  5. Once signed in, you will be able to start using One Drive by tapping the plus sign (+).

  6. Just tap on the icon for the action you want to perform.

  1. Open Play Store.

  2. Search for Dropbox.

  3. The file will be downloaded to your device, once done, tap Install.

  4. Tap Open.

  1. You can sign in using your existing Gmail account or create a new one by signing up.

  2. Put a check on the box that says I agree then tap Create Account.

  3. Once signed in, you may now use the app.
