How to Fix Video Issues on Windows Tablets

Video issues can be frustrating. This guide will help you to troubleshoot a variety of video issues you may come across.

  1. Open the Start Menu.

  4. On the left side of the screen, choose Display.

  5. On the right, choose 100% for scale, and the entry labeled Recommended for Resolution.

Windows 10 is configured to automatically check for updates regularly for your computer.
If you are using a laptop or tablet, make sure you plug it in to charge while updates run.
  1. Open the Start menu, and select Settings.

  2. Select Update & Security.

  3. Select Windows Update on the left, then Check for updates on the right.

  4. Once the system has finished checking for updates, it will automatically download and install the latest applicable updates.
    Some Windows Updates can't be made with the system running. Instead, Windows will ask to reboot to complete these updates.
    If prompted simply select Reboot to complete the update process.
Before you restart or shut down your PC, make sure to save all necessary work to prevent data loss.
  1. Select the Start menu, then select Power.

  2. Select Restart.

Night light changes the color on the screen at night to make it easier on your eyes. Use the following steps to modify the settings.
  1. Open the Start Menu.

  2. Choose the Settings icon.

  3. Choose the System icon.

  4. On the left side of the screen, choose Display.

  5. Use the toggle to turn on or off Night Light.

  6. You can choose Night light settings to modify additional settings.

  7. To change the color temperature, you can slide the bar left and right.

  8. To set a schedule you can toggle the Schedule Night Light to on and manage your schedule.

  1. Using the included cable, connect your Windows 10 tablet to an outlet.

  2. Allow your tablet to charge for at least 15 minutes.

You can continue to use your tablet while it charges.

  1. Open the Start Menu.

  4. On the left side of the screen, choose Power & sleep.

  5. Change Screen and Sleep settings as needed.

  1. Using the included cable, connect your Windows 10 tablet to an outlet.

  2. Allow your tablet to charge for at least 15 minutes.

You can continue to use your tablet while it charges.

  1. Push and hold the power button on your tablet for 10 seconds.
  2. Wait 10 seconds.
  3. Push and hold the power button for 5 seconds to turn it back on.
