In order for your phone or tablet to communicate with your Yamaha RX-V481BL, they will need to be on the same network.

Most of the time, restarting will fix common problems.

  1. Unplug your modem, router, and power cord from the receiver. Do not disconnect any Ethernet cables, just unplug the power cords from the wall.

  2. Wait 30 seconds and then plug the modem in. Wait for it to fully boot and then plug in the router and the receiver.
  3. Test your app and see if everything is working correctly now.

Verify the Ethernet cable is plugged into the back of the receiver and then the other end to your network switch, or directly to your home's router.

  1. Swipe down on phone to access quick settings.

  1. Find the AV Controller app icon.

  2. Tap and drag the icon to the word uninstall. It will light up in red.

  3. Tap on OK to confirm removal of the app

  1. Open Play Store.

  2. Tap on the search bar and search for Yamaha AV Controller.

  3. Tap Install to start downloading the app.

  4. Once installed, tap Open to proceed to the setup.

  1. Open the AV Controller from the home screen.

  2. When you open the app you will be asked to choose your device. This should automatically populate as long as you are on the same network as the receiver.

  3. Tap on your device and you will be able to control your receiver.

  3. Tap on the x in the top left corner of the icon.

  3. In the search bar, search for Yamaha AV Controller.

  4. Find Yamaha AV Controller in the search results and tap on GET.

  5. Tap on Install to start download.
