How to Fix Issues with the JBL Connect App

This guild will walk you though some troubleshooting steps in the case the app fails to launch or crashes.

  1. Swipe down from the top edge of your Android device's screen to see the Notification shade.

  2. Swipe down a second time for the full Quick Settings shade. Select the Settings icon near the top right.

  3. Tap on Connected Devices.

  4. Tap on Bluetooth.

  5. Your Bluetooth device should show up under Paired devices and say connected. If you see it in the list but it does not say connected, make sure your Bluetooth device is powered on and Bluetooth is enabled.

  6. If you devices does not show up in the list, tap on Pair new device.

  7. Place your Bluetooth in pairing mode and tap on the device once it shows up in the list.

  8. If prompted for a PIN enter that in from the Bluetooth device's user manual.
  1. Tap Recent Apps at the bottom of the screen.

    The Recent Apps button may be located on either the bottom left or bottom right as either an onscreen button or a physical button. If you're unsure which button it is, please refer to the user manual of your android device.

  2. Either tap the X or swipe to the side to close an app.

  1. Hold down the power button on your Android device.

    Depending on the manufacturer and model of Android device you have, the location of the power button will vary.
  2. Select Power Off.

    If the menu does not pop up, continue to hold the power button, and your Android device will shut off.
  3. Wait 30 seconds.

  4. Push and hold the Power button for a few moments, and your Android device will start back up.

  1. Swipe down from the top edge of your Android device's screen to see the Notification shade.

  2. Swipe down a second time for the full Quick Settings shade. Select the Settings icon near the top right.

  3. Select Apps.

  4. Select the application you are having trouble with.
  5. Tap Stop or Force Stop if available.
  6. Tap Clear Data.

  1. On your Android device, tap on the Apps icon on the main screen.

  2. Look for the JBL Connect icon.

  3. Tap and hold the apps icon until you see the Uninstall option show up at the top side of the screen.

  4. Drag the icon over the Uninstall option until the icon turns red and release it.
  5. You will be asked whether you want to uninstall the app. Tap on OK to confirm.

  1. Open Play Store.

  2. Type "JBL Connect" in the search bar and tap Install.

  3. Once installed, tap Open to proceed to the setup.

  1. Open the Settings app from the home screen.

  2. Tap on Bluetooth.

  3. Your device should show under My Devices and say connected. If you see it in the list but it does not say connected, make sure your Bluetooth device is powered on and Bluetooth is enabled.

  4. If the device is not listed under My Devices, then place your Bluetooth device in pairing mode and tap on the device listed under Devices.

  5. If prompted for a PIN enter that in from the Bluetooth device's user manual.

The way to show all running apps on an iOS device varies with the model you have:

  • Older iOS devices, up to the iPhone X, still come equipped with a circular home button beneath the screen.
  • Newer iOS devices, beginning with the iPhone X, no longer come equipped with the circular home button beneath the screen.

On iOS Devices with a Home Button

  1. Double-press the Home button quickly.

On iOS Devices Without a Home Button

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause slightly in the middle of the screen.

  1. You will now see a list of apps that are currently open. Swipe up on any of the apps to close them.

Powering off an iPhone.

  1. Hold down the lock / power button.
  2. Slide to power off when prompted.
  3. Wait until the phone is off.
  4. Hold down the lock / power button until you see the Apple logo.
  1. On the main screen of your iOS device, look for the JBL Connect icon.

  2. Tap on hold the icon until an X shows up on its top left corner. Tap on the X.

  3. You will be asked whether you want to delete the app. Tap on Delete to confirm.

  1. Open the App Store.

  2. Type in "JBL Connect" in the search bar.
  3. Find JBL Connect in the search results and tap on GET.

  4. Tap on Install to start download.
