  1. Open Settings on your phone or tablet.

  2. Select Wi-Fi.

  3. Look in the list for your Wi-Fi network. Tap and hold your Wi-Fi network name till a menu comes up.

The Camera and the mobile device should be setup on the same network in order to communicate with each other. Because of security of Guest Networks they should not be used.

Check Wi-Fi connection on the camera

  1. Turn on the camera.
  2. Press the Menu button.

  6. Select Connect to smartphone.

  7. Choose Select a network > OK.

  8. Select your network from the list.

  9. Enter your network password, then push the Menu button.

  10. Select Auto Setting > OK.

Check Wi-Fi connection on an Android device

  1. Swipe down the top bar.

  2. Hold down the Wi-Fi button and release it.

  3. Review the name of your network.

  1. Tap Recent Apps at the bottom of the screen.

    The Recent Apps button may be located on either the bottom left or bottom right as either an onscreen button or a physical button. If you're unsure which button it is, please refer to the user manual of your android device.

  2. Either tap the X or swipe to the side to close an app.

  1. Hold down the power button on your Android device.

    Depending on the manufacturer and model of Android device you have, the location of the power button will vary.
  2. Select Power Off.

    If the menu does not pop up, continue to hold the power button, and your Android device will shut off.
  3. Wait 30 seconds.

  4. Push and hold the Power button for a few moments, and your Android device will start back up.

  1. Swipe down from the top edge of your Android device's screen to see the Notification shade.

  2. Swipe down a second time for the full Quick Settings shade. Select the Settings icon near the top right.

  3. Select Apps.

  4. Select the application you are having trouble with.
  5. Tap Stop or Force Stop if available.
  6. Tap Clear Data.

  1. On your Android device, tap on the Apps icon on the main screen.

  2. Look for the Canon Camera Connect icon.

  3. Tap and hold the apps icon until you see the Uninstall option show up at the top side of the screen.

  4. Drag the icon over the Uninstall option until the icon turns red and release it.
  5. You will be asked whether you want to uninstall the app. Tap on OK to confirm.

  1. Open Play Store.

  2. Type "Canon Camera Connect" in the search bar and tap Install.

  3. Once installed, tap Open to proceed to the setup.

  3. Tap the Information symbol to the right of the network you wish to forget.

  4. Tap Forget This Network.

  5. The network is now forgotten. If you wish, it can be re-added.

Check Wi-Fi connection on an iOS device

  1. Tap the Settings icon.

  3. Review the Network Name (SSID) to ensure it is the same.

The way to show all running apps on an iOS device varies with the model you have:

  • Older iOS devices, up to the iPhone X, still come equipped with a circular home button beneath the screen.
  • Newer iOS devices, beginning with the iPhone X, no longer come equipped with the circular home button beneath the screen.

On iOS Devices with a Home Button

  1. Double-press the Home button quickly.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause slightly in the middle of the screen.

  1. You will now see a list of apps that are currently open. Swipe up on any of the apps to close them.

Powering off an iPhone.

  1. Hold down the lock / power button.
  2. Slide to power off when prompted.
  3. Wait until the phone is off.
  4. Hold down the lock / power button until you see the Apple logo.
  1. On the main screen of your iOS device, look for the Canon Camera Connect icon.

  2. Tap on hold the icon until an X shows up on its top left corner. Tap on the X.

  3. You will be asked whether you want to delete the app. Tap on Delete to confirm.

  1. Open the App Store.
  2. Type in "Canon Camera Connect" in the search bar.
  3. Find Canon Camera Connect in the search results and tap on GET.
