1 Credentials

In order to connect to a wireless network, you must have the required credentials. These are:
  • Wireless Network Name (SSID)
  • Wireless Network Key (Password)

Finding Network Credentials

Most wireless routers or gateways have a label with the default credentials. If the credentials aren't there, check the documentation that came with your device.

There are two basic methods used for wireless printer connection setup:

  • Wireless Setup Wizard - You will need access to the printer's display screen.
  • USB Setup - Requires a PC or Mac and printer software.
You can connect your Lexmark printer to the Wi-Fi in two ways:

Automatic (WPS) Connect

  1. Locate and press the WPS button on your wireless router. It may be labeled with the symbol depicted below or it may simply say WPS.

    Depending on the brand and model, your wireless router may have an indicator light that turns on when the WPS button is pressed.

  2. Press the OK or Connect button on your printer within two minutes.
  3. Observe the printer message, "Attempting to connect to your network."
  4. Press OK on the printer upon successful connection.

Manual Connect

  1. Press the Home button to get to the Home Screen
  2. Navigate to Setup and hit the OK button
  3. Navigate to Network Setup and hit the OK button.
  4. Navigate to Wireless 802.11 b/g/n and hit the OK button.
  5. Navigate to Network Connection Setup and hit the OK button.
  6. Navigate to wireless and hit the OK button.
  7. Choose either WPS PBC Mode or WPS PIN Mode and hit the OK button.
  8. Follow the On Screen Instructions to complete setup.
To help troubleshoot the problem we should check if other devices can connect to the wireless network.
Retry the network using the confirmed wireless network name and password.

At this time, Lexmark has not indicated that there are any compatibility issues with specific models of networking equipment on the market. To ensure that your specific networking equipment and all settings will work properly with your Lexmark printer, please reach out to the manufacturer directly for further assistance.

Some wireless routers broadcast a dual-band wireless signal and provide both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networks. Your device may not see the 5GHz network, which is completely normal. Not all devices contain the antenna to communicate on the 5GHz band. Also, some routers broadcast guest networks that your device may not be able to connect to depending on your router's settings.

  1. Open a web browser and navigate to support.lexmark.com/drivers

  2. Enter your product model, operating system, version of your operating system, and your language and click Submit to continue.

  3. Scroll down and click on the recommended driver.

  4. On the page that loads, click the download button to start your download.

  5. Your download should begin. Depending on what browser you've used, you may have to click Run or Save to continue, or simply click the file that's downloaded to launch the installer.

Before starting the USB to WiFi setup process, be sure to unplug the USB cable from the computer and printer. You will be asked to connect it later during the setup process.

  1. Click Start to begin setup.

  3. To accept the License Agreement click Agree.

  4. Click Continue and allow any security warnings.

  5. If you wish to change the install location or to not make this the default printer, you may do so here. Click Continue.

  6. Select Wireless Connection and then click on Continue.

  7. You will be asked to select the WiFi status indicator on the printer. Choose the option that it's blinking or off and click Continue.

  8. Select Guided Setup and click on Continue.

  9. Select Yes and click Continue.

  10. Select No when asked if your router supports WPS and click Continue.

  11. Click Continue.

  12. Connect a USB cable to the printer and computer and click Continue.

  13. Choose your network from the list and click Continue.list of available wireless networks
  14. Click Yes and Continue to attempt to automatically connect to WiFi.

    If this step fails to auto connect you to WiFi, you will be prompted to enter your Security Key (WiFi Password) and hit continue.

  15. Remove the USB cable and click Continue

  17. Printer depending, you will be asked to complete setup for advanced functions of your printer. Follow the instructions on screen to complete setup.
