1 Check Network Status

You can check the status of your range extender in two ways:

  • On the device itself,
  • On a computer.

The type and amount of network related information that you get depends on which method you use.

On Your Range Extender

  1. Locate the network status indicators near the front of the range extender.
    Router link and device link indicators
  2. Check the Router Link (1) and Device Link (2) indicators on the front of the range extender:

    Router Link Indicator (1)

    Green Router Link
    "GreenThe range extender has an optimal connection to your router.
    Amber Router Link
    Amber IndicatorThe range extender has a good connection to your router.
    Red Router Link
    Red IndicatorThe range extender has a weak connection to your router. It should be placed closer to your router.
    Router Link Off
    Indicator is offThe range extender does not have a connection to your router.

    Device Link Indicator (2)

    Green Device Link
    Green IndicatorThe range extender has an optimal connection to your device.
    Amber Device Link
    Amber IndicatorThe range extender has a good connection to your device.
    Red Device Link
    Red IndicatorThe range extender has a weak connection to your device. It should be placed closer to your range extender.
    Device Link Off
    Indicator is offThe range extender does not have a connection to any devices.

On Your Computer

  1. Launch the browser that you use to go online.
    Main Desktop Browsers.
  2. Navigate to the following address: http://www.mywifiext.net
  3. Enter the password when requested.
  4. The Network Map tab will display the range extender's connection to the router and connection to your devices.
