Deleting Dogpile
Toolbars can be a great addition to your web browser, especially if you are somewhat of a novice user and would like assistance during your web searches. However, like many helpful innovations to assist the computer user, certain unscrupulous programmers have designed toolbars to take advantage of the user, rather than help them. One of these less than honest toolbars is the Dogpile Toolbar.
The Dogpile toolbar is not malware per se - it doesn’t load malicious content, damage files, or deny service. What it does do is it automatically records certain information about your use of both the toolbar and the Internet. It records the time and date of login, duration of session, URL hits during session, advertisements served during the session, software add-ons installed, when you send a message (also the time you sent the message and the recipient's user name/email address). It has also been know to display advertisements for its paid partners.
Because of this spyware and adware activity, Dogpile is considered borderline malware. As such, many adware and spyware scanners flag it as a threat. The good thing is that Dogpile is not as bad as most malware, and allows itself to be easily removed.
Many may want to remove dogpile from their computer, but don't seem to know how to. "How do I remove dogpile from my computer?" In order to delete the Dogpile toolbar and remove dogpile from the computer, do the following:
1) Go to “Start” and then “Control Panel”. Click “Add/Remove Programs”
2) Find/highlight the “Dogpile toolbar” in the dropdown list and the click “Remove/Change” button to begin the removal.
3) Follow the on-Screen prompts to finish the removal.
