My Laptop cannot connect to Internet wirelessly

Customer Tech Support Issues
Customer mentioned that he had tried to connect to different wireless networks, at different locations that he knew had open networks (daughter's home office, coffee shop, hotel) and could connect to the router, but would not get any internet throughput. Asked customer if he could connect to the internet with an ethernet connection. Hadn't tried, so he hardwired in his daughter's house, and connected to the internet no problem.

Determined via connection to his system that there was an active wireless connection in the system tray. Network connection was configured for a static IP address when it should have been set for DHCP. Fixed wireless network adapter configuration and forced a refresh. Confirmed that the computer had a working wireless connection.
