Customer Tech Support Issues

Customer's Windows XP Professional computer infected with the Windows Antivirus Pro and the skynet rootkit infection.  Infections interfered with virus removal tools and had to manually identify and disable individual virus infections.

I had multiple viruses and malware on my system that prevented me from starting Malbytes Malware and McAfee antivirus, safe mode, regedit, and add/remove programs. Windows firewall wasn't protecting me at all, it seems. Initially, on first call on 9/1, we couldn't run your downloaded tools, ComboFix, etc. we tried renaming them, still got error - "desote.exe has encountered an error and needs to shut down." Also had "Windows Antivirus Pro 2009 " popping up.
