Rogue Windows Pro Antivirus disables computer
- Customer Tech Support Issues
Customer reported that her computer had been taken over after she clicked on a popup that enticed her by showing virus threats. The Solutions Engineer detected the rogue antispyware, Windows Pro Antivirus 2010 that employs this method to infect a computer. The computer would not connect in normal mode and had to be started in safe mode before a fix could be deployed. The Solutions Engineer used a couple of tools to remove all traces of Windows Pro Antivirus effectively.
