AVG firewall blocking the internet connection

Customer Tech Support Issues
The customer reported that the AVG firewall was blocking the internet connection. The Solutions Engineer detected that windows firewall settings were off. The Solutions Engineer re-installed the antivirus and solved the problem. 

In the Words of our Customer

This was a unique situation in which it appeared that AVG's firewall would engage before the install was complete and therefore prevented any internet access. Now this rather simple statement is made possible by several hours of hard detective work by my solutions engineer George and his collegues. The length of time that it took was a direct resultof George's dedication. George and company were great.
