Computer takes 15-20 minutes to boot-up

Customer Tech Support Issues

Customer reported that after having their OS re-installed at the recommendation of Dell support their computer was taking 15-20 minutes to boot-up.  Removed all autoruns with no file association and unnecessary startups.  Disabled Roxio Hard Drive Watcher 9 which was throwing errors in the event viewer.  Turned off additional Roxio startup services and some of the Creative sound controlling programs from startup.  Boot-up time significantly improved.

Had a bad/corrupt hal.dll file and dell sent me to their on-call fee based service. Had 3 different reps tell me 3 different things and eventually reinstalled windows (which I found out later I didn't have to do!!!) After that, my boot time was 15-20 minutes! I found support.com through AVG and purchased the annual home office plan. After a few phone calls and your taking control of my system, my boot time was back to normal and a few other errors fixed as well. Thanks so so much!
