Customer reports computer drivers messed up

Customer reports that computer devices are messed up and that nothing is working. After remoting in discovered that the device manager wasn't showing devices. Checked the 'Plug and Play' service and it wasn't started because 'Win32: the service cannot be started either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.' (winmgmnt not enabled).
Using services.msc manually restoring service settings to correct defaults and confirmed that devices are operating correctly.

After trying to fix a problem on my own, I had somehow disabled anything that would allow me to recover or restore my computer to any previous state. My tech from support.com went into the computer in a way I never would have known to, and sifted through all of the missing/disabled items one by one.
