Printer not working (Lexmark 5340)

The printer icon is saying its 'ready' connected via USB - however printing a test page does not work - the Lexmark 5300 Series program comes up saying 'Communication Not Available'.  When the customer powered down the Lexmark, it was still showing as 'ready' in Windows - but when the customer unplugged the USB cable connected to it, it went 'offline' in Windows.  When the customer unplugged the printer's power cable, the printer went 'offline' in Windows, and when plugging it back to power - it went back to 'ready'.  Printing a test page fails.  Also, trying to use the Lexmark 5300 Series scanner in control panel does not work - it says something else is using it.

Downloaded latest Lexmark 5340 printer drivers. Uninstalled old drivers including removing hidden devices in Device Manager (using the env var DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES = 1).  Installed latest Lexmark 5340 printer drivers and confirmed working.

Thank you Patrick for fixing my computer. The problem was with my printer. It would not print or scan even though it was on. I thought maybe one of the guys from support over the weekend disabled it and I called to find out what the problem was. He fixed it for me and checked out some other things for me and now it is working fine again ! Thanks Support for sending Patrick !
