Customer computer infected with Personal Antivirus (PAV) rogueware. Customer experiencing repeated pop-ups and warnings. PAV attempting to interfere with AVG anti-virus software.
Deleted: c:\documents and settings\All Users\Start Menu\PAV C:\program files\PAV\, C:\windows\system32\winexplorer.dll, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\PAV value = C:\program files\PAV\pav.exe, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser, Helper Objects\{2E59498D-7E44-4452-9044-0973B080B9E8}\winexplorer.dll.
Ensured that AVG antivirus software was correctly configured and protecting the computer after removing PAV.exe and associated registry entries.
