Malware and Rootkit Infection

Customer Tech Support Issues
The customer reported multiple viruses and rootkits on the computer system. The Solutions Engineer detected the malware and removed it using a malware removal tool.The Solutions Engineer identified the rootkit by using RootRepeal as UACxxxxxxxxx.dll file error. The Solutions Engineer then ran an AVG Antivirus scan for continued security.

I had multiple viruses on a desktop computer running the Vista Business OS. The traditional anti-virus S/W helped in removing some of the viruses, but there were many rootkits left and these actually ended up locking my system preventing me from uninstalling/reinstalling either AVG or the OS. I used several additional virus removal tools such as VCleaner and other tools from other Anti-virus vendors....still no go.
