Starting from Scratch in your Internet Explorer® Browser
Here are the steps to reset your browser settings in Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 8. A reset deletes or disables all third-party toolbars and add-ons, as well as sets your settings to the factory originals.
This can be a simple cure to remove extra toolbars and add-ons you don't want. It can also be something to try if something goes radically wrong in Internet Explorer and it stops working or behaves strangely (though, resetting is not a surefire cure by any means).
Keep in mind most people modify their Internet Explorer settings at some point, and those modifications will be lost. If you need special security exceptions to use important websites or proxy settings, be sure you remember those to re-enter later.
Click the Tools dropdown, then go to Internet Options.

-
Click the Advanced tab on the far right, and then click the Reset button towards the bottom.

-
To also reset your homepage, search providers, set accelerators to default, delete temporary Internet files, browsing history, cookies, web form information, stored passwords and InPrivate Filtering data, click the Delete personal settings checkbox.
-
Click the Reset button.

-
While Internet Explorer is resetting, progress will be shown.

-
Close the dialog when done.

-
Click the OK button.

Complete. Internet Explorer's settings are now like new.
