SpyCrush is a Spyware, Trojan program from the all too large Smitfraud family of Trojans. SpyCrush preys on unsuspecting pc users promising to protect them from Spyware, when in fact SpyCrush IS the Spyware. As with many of the Smitfraud Trojans, SpyCrush will silently install onto the pc user's computer either through an infected website or an infected download from a peer-to-peer program. SpyCrush will goad users into purchasing its rogue software only to further infect those users and install additional malware onto the computer.
How to tell if SpyCrush has infected the computer
- Many pop-ups and pop-unders coercing the pc user to purchase SpyCrush through unrealistic virus results.
- The computer may be running much slower than normal.
