Need Help to Remove Spyaxe?
Spyaxe Attacks Personal Computers
The spyware identified as Spyaxe is creating a growing problem for internet users. This software, which attempts to install itself onto a user's computer by stealth, has proved difficult for antivirus and antispyware companies to deal with. Potential solves for this software may even damage a user's computer.
"This software's main problem is that it fools you into thinking it's a new kind of anti-spyware software", said Dhugael McLean, Chief Virus Guru of support.com. "Spyaxe tells you in a popup window that you might be infected by spyware and tries to frighten you into installing it - when you do, your computer becomes infected with this very nasty, persistent, damaging software."
"This is not a new problem", McLean continues. "There are many pieces of software that come under the umbrella of 'Rogue Anti-spyware', software that promises to help you remove spyware or protect your system from spyware - when in fact it does the exact opposite." McLean suggests extreme caution when viewing web pages. "Don't believe everything that pops up on the screen, especially if it's trying to scare you into doing something."
"We have put a lot of time and research into defeating software like Spyaxe. We were the first to be able to defeat the VX2 spyware and we're pleased to be one of the few companies that can actually get your system clean after being infected by Spyaxe."
If users think they might be infected with Spyaxe or some other kind of spyware, Wandler suggests getting a qualified tech that understands how spyware works to remove it from the system. "If you do it wrong, you can break the connection to the internet. Software like this can be very difficult to remove and if you don't do it right - things go very wrong."
