Sending an Email to Fax: Is It Possible?

Yes, several businesses offer solutions to enable you to send faxes to your email and send emails to a fax machine. Perform an Internet search and consider the possibilities offered. Typically, these fax to email software solutions charge a fee.

Is it possible then to send a fax for free? Again, the answer is yes. Windows includes a fax program already bundled into it, essentially turning your computer into a fax machine. You’ll just need to configure it to receive or send faxes.

If you need help in doing this, contact Support.com. We’re here ready to help—24/7, 365 days a year—with just about any computer problem out there.

What If You Can’t Open Email Attachments?

This problem is a bit harder to answer without first scanning your computer. It could be that the email attachment is in a format that your computer doesn’t understand. If this is the case, we can help convert it into a format that your computer can open.

Another possibility is that the attachment may have been tainted with a virus. Even if an email appears to be from a trusted sender, this isn’t always the case. Virus writers have found ways to hack into people’s computers and forward emails with viruses to every contact listed in the initial victim’s address book. This helps spread the virus.

To be sure you haven’t been targeted, have one of our Personal Technology Experts scan your computer and the attachment. Our 52-point diagnostic tune-up can clean up your computer and have it running like new as we take care of problems like:
