Lenovo is a Chinese based company and is the 4th largest manufacturer of personal computers in the world. Lenovo took a huge leap forward in late 2004 when it purchased IBMs entire computer division. This was done to greatly expand Lenovos presence in the US and world markets, and they tried to immediately capitalize on this purchase be using the IBM nomenclature of “Think” to associate with their products (Lenovo ThinkPad, Lenovo ThinkCentre, Lenovo ThinkStation, ect.)
Initially, IBM maintained significant shareholdings in the company to assist with the transition, but has steadily divested its holding in Lenovo over the years and currently barely maintains a presence in the company.
