Barak leads the company's core accounting, tax, compliance, and SEC reporting functions. He came to SupportSoft after serving as Senior Director of Change Management for Yahoo’s Finance Transformation Office, where he lead the company’s finance-related change management efforts (i.e., new systems, processes and roles for a finance organization that manages $8B across 27 countries).

Previously, he served as the Budget Director for Oakland Unified School District, where he helped bring the District back to fiscal solvency, established financial systems and processes, and created a new student-based allocation system that is being replicated in the country’s largest school districts. Prior to his public-sector term, Barak served as the Director of Strategic Planning for Mediaplex, Inc., a San Francisco-based technology and media company, where he handled corporate strategy, IPO's, and mergers and acquisitions. Previously, he worked as a management consultant with LEK Consulting, where he gained experience in a variety of sectors, including biotechnology, transportation, and energy.

Barak's Technology Tipping Point:

Barak realized that technology really could revolutionize his life when he was able to work remotely from a shuttle bus while commuting to work. He is now a strong proponent of the work-from-home model, which is one reason he believes so strongly in SPRT’s model.
