Personal Technology Experts

Personal Technology Experts
At Support.com®, we decided to name our people "Personal Technology Experts" (or PTEs) for a very important reason. We strive to make the process of technical support something much more than just getting your computer serviced. It's important to our technical staff to understand how you use technology so we can make it work best for you. Cookie-cutter solutions to technology problems are what other companies do. We strive for something more.

We love what we do

Every PTE is here because they love what they do. Technology is second nature to our people and their enthusiasm for it comes across in the quality of the work. In fact, our people understand tech so well that explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical people is part of the job description. "Personal" means something important here.

Your schedule, not ours

We know that problems occur at all hours of the day and night. Our people are available 24/7/365 days a year for you – and yes, that even includes holidays. Whenever you might have an issue, our people are standing by to help in any way you may need.

"Remote" support doesn't have to mean "uninterested"

We've seen so many other companies that seem to have no interest in the person connected to the computer, so we've gone out of our way to make sure that our people are there to do more than just fix the problem. While we use cool technology that allows us to interact directly with your computer, our primary focus is you. When you give us permission to connect to your computer, we can easily get to the root of the problem by seeing exactly the same thing that you do. You can show us exactly what's wrong and the PTE can control the mouse and keyboard to fix it while you watch. So, while your PTE may live on the other side of the continent, they are right there for you. All the hassle of taking your computer to a shop or inviting a stranger into your home is gone when you work with one of our people.

Who we are

Our PTEs go through some of the most rigorous testing and training before they start helping customers. Our selection process has proven to select individuals who intimately understand how technology works. With this knowledge, they can handle just about anything you want to throw at them–be it a weird printer issue, malware that no one else can seem to get rid of, or figuring out how to get your music on your MP3 player–and they can do it while explaining it all in terms you will understand.

Green

Our people are all very aware of how important it is to reduce one's carbon footprint. Working from home means considerably less carbon emission and our people are very happy to take whatever small part they can in reducing climate change.
